LEMUEL

Lemuel is a public sculpture that tries to answer to an almost classical question: how can you represent the invisible?…

Inspired by the glorious era of science fiction (and to the movie Fantastic Voyage) which opened the doors of imagination to the sheer rigours of science we tried to designs a face for microscopic reality, something existing but that actually you don’t have almost any chance to see in your daily life…using the synchrotron technology, with a hyper-scanning operation we captured the image of an endometrial cell and in a reversed Liliputh we built out of it an asleep giant…Lying in a public spacelike an enormous mammal Lemuel waits for adults and children to caress it, to climb over its polished arms, to slide and sit on it… the sculpture remains there assaulted by an army of amused lilliputians.
